Vivi, May 2014: Lola does Sailor Moon Cosplay, Yama Pi drives, and handbags galore

I picked up the May issue of Vivi for the Sailor Moon leather pouch free gift the official BSSM Twitter account had been plugging. The pouch itself wasn’t much to speak of. Couldn’t they add a border or something to that manga image? It’s so very 1990’s t-shirt transfer. A pity. These fashion magazine bags and pouches are usually pretty good.

The whole Sailor Moon pouch gift thing tied into the mini feature with cover model Lola cosplaying as Sailor Moon and sharing her memories of the series.

You know Sailor Moon for me was… from when I was about 8 years old? I had just returned to Japan and I didn’t speak much Japanese but I was always watching anime! I bought the transformation merchandise and in my house I did the whole “In the name of the moon, I punish you!” thing (laugh)! And, “Using my beautiful maiden powers, I, Sailor Moon, will catch any who are deceitful in love!” and lines like that where what I was into~. Among all the senshi, Usagi/Sailor Moon was my favorite. I liked that she wasn’t just beautiful, she had a strong heart and was kind and not showy. So, when I heard I was going to get to transform into Sailor Moon, the giddy feeling just didn’t stop. I will never forget. It became a precious memory. Thank you!
